War of 1812
The War of 1812 was fought 1812-1815 between the United States and Great Britain. Sparked by issues of trade, maritime rights, and territorial expansionism, the war saw the two nations battle at sea, along the Canadian border, and on the frontier. Effectively a stalemate, the war ended with the Treaty of Ghent which dictated a return to status quo ante bellum.
