The Vietnam War defined a generation and was one of the first major conflicts to be covered extensively by all types of modern media. Lasting from 1965-1973, active American involvement in the conflict saw troops on the ground fighting the Viet Cong and People's Army of North Vietnam as well as pilots battling in the skies. This gallery showcases some of the aspects of the conflict and is taken from the extensive holdings of the National Archives & Records Administration.
