Hundred Years' War: Battle of Sluys
The Battle of Sluys was one of the opening battles of the Hundred Years' War. Crossing the English Channel, the fleet of King Edward III engaged and destroyed the French fleet off of Sluys. The victory at Sluys ensured English control of the Channel for the next several years.
