Definition:
The Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) is the set of regulations and laws which govern the US military. Title 10, Subtitle A, Part II, Chapter 47 of the United States Code, the UCMJ became effective on May 31, 1951 and replaced earlier variants of the Articles of War. Routinely updated, the UCMJ provides the basis for the military justice system.
