French & Indian/Seven Years' War

Fought between 1754 and 1763, the French & Indian War saw the British and French battle for control of North America. The conflict soon spread and consumed Europe as well where it was known as the Seven Years' War.
French & Indian War: Fort Necessity & the Battle of Great Meadows
Built in 1754, by Lt. Col. George Washington, Fort Necessity was located in the Great Meadows in present-day southwestern Pennsylvania. Tasked with constructing a road through the wilderness, Washington had the fort built after encountering resistance from the French in May. Attacked on July 3, Washington was forced to surrender the fort the next day.
French & Indian War: Battle of the Monongahela
The Battle of the Monongahela was fought on July 9, 1755, in western Pennsylvania. Advancing from Fort Cumberland, Major General Edward Braddock sought to capture the French base at Fort Duquesne. Meeting a French and Indian force near the Monongahela River, Braddock's men were driven from the field.
French & Indian War: Battle of Lake George
Occurring on September 8, 1755, the Battle of Lake George saw the British and French fighting in the woods of northern New York. Moving north to capture the French fort at Crown Point, Sir William Johnson had a column ambushed by the forces of Baron Dieskau. In the fight that followed, the British succeeded in defeating the French and captured their baggage train.
Seven Years' War: Battle of Rossbach
One of Frederick the Great's most stunning victories, the Battle of Rossbach saw the Prussian leader rout a combined French & Austrian army. Clashing near the village of Rossbach in Prussian Saxony, Frederick was able to surprise the enemy and soundly defeat them while suffering minimal casualties.
Seven Years' War: Battle of Leuthen
The Battle of Leuthen was fought December 5, 1757, between Prussia and Austria. Fought near Leuthen, Frederick the Great outmaneuvered the Austrians and attacked their flank. The resulting rout made Leuthen Frederick's masterpiece.
French & Indian War: Siege of Louisbourg (1758)
The Siege of Louisbourg lasted from June 8 to July 26, 1758, and saw the British capture the stronghold from the French. Investing Louisbourg, the British sought to take the city as a prelude to invading Canada. Gen. Jeffrey Amherst oversaw the successful siege operations.
Seven Years' War: Battle of Domstatdl
Fought on June 30, 1758, the Battle of Domstadtl saw the Austrians defeat reinforcements meant for Frederick the Great's campaign in Moravia. Marching to aid in the siege Olomouc, the Prussian supply column was twice attacked by the Austrians and forced to withdraw. Due to the defeat at Domstadtl, Frederick was forced to retreat back to Bohemia.
French & Indian War: Battle of Quebec (1759)
The Battle of Quebec was fought across the Plains of Abraham on September 13, 1759. Led by Major General James Wolfe, British forces succeeded in defeating the French and captured Quebec a short time later. The Battle of Quebec was the decisive battle of the war in North America and resulted in the death of both commanders.
