Situated in a central location, near the middle of the Inner Line Defenses, was the Continental Army's Artillery Park. It was here that Brigadier General Henry Knox's guns were kept and his men encamped. While at Valley Forge, Knox, a former Boston bookseller, aided Washington in obtaining supplies for the army and assisted in von Steuben's training efforts.
