Military History in the News: RAF Intercepts Russian Bombers

Wednesday August 22, 2007

In a flashback to the Cold War, Russia has resumed long-range bomber patrols over the world's oceans. This new Russian assertiveness has led NATO air forces to begin flights to shadow these aircraft. In one encounter, new Typhoon F2 fighters from the RAF's No. 11 Squadron intercepted Russian bombers over the North Sea. Other reports state that Russian aircraft have been spotted as far into the Pacific as Guam.

(1) Bob Evans says:

Come On!!!! Korea was a war too. I, like thousands of others are tired of seeing The Korean War passed over time after time after time. I’ give you a few more days to start correcting this and then I will cut you off like I have others.

We fought, bled, hurt, saw our buddies injured and die just like any other war.

Please consider this.

Also never forget, the Labour Party made a gift of the Rolls Royce Nene RB41 engine to the Soviets, which was reverse engineered as the RD-45 to power their MIG15’s. How many Allied troops and airmen were killed because of their stupidity? As Stalin said when he heard of the gift, “What fools give away their secrets?” Who indeed?
